Thoughtful hair artistry, built around you.

Kayla Phakousonh

Nice to meet you! I’m Kayla.

There’s nothing I love more than helping someone feel like the best version of themselves. With years of experience in color, I specialize in creating customized, dimensional looks that are thoughtfully tailored to you—your hair, your goals, and your lifestyle.

I believe great hair starts with trust, and I love building real connections with my clients. Whether we’re working toward a big transformation or just keeping your color fresh and low-maintenance, I’m here to guide you every step of the way with honesty, care, and a whole lot of attention to detail.

My pricing is $110/hour.

A bit more about me?

  • I specialize in all things color-related—even color corrections and vivids!

  • Lived-in cuts are my jam! Shags with lots of texture and long layers with softly defined shape are what I’m all about.

  • I truly love the science behind hair color. I use my knowledge about hair physiology and color chemistry to give you realistic insight into what’s achievable for your hair, and my technical skills to bring that vision to life.

RECENT WORK

  • I specialize in creating beautiful, dimensional color that works with your natural tones and fits your lifestyle. Whether you’re after sun-kissed blondes, rich brunettes, or flawless highlights, I customize every color to make sure it feels uniquely you. I primarily use Kemon color products here at Verde because they have the most gentle formulas and vibrant, long-lasting results. I also love working with Pulp Riot for vivid, bold colors—so whether it’s natural or bright, your hair will stay healthy and radiant from root to tip.

  • I specialize in long layered cuts, shags, and lived-in styles that are effortless and easy to maintain. My goal is to create shapes that flatter your features and work with your hair’s natural movement—so you can wake up feeling confident without a lot of fuss. Whether you want soft layers for added texture or a fresh shag with cool, undone vibes, I’m here to craft a look that feels relaxed, modern, and totally you.

What I Offer

LOVE NOTES

How Does Booking Work?

#1 - Consultation

For certain services—like major color changes, complex blonding, or new styles—a consultation helps us align on your goals and ensures the best results. During this personalized chat, we’ll discuss your hair history, preferences, and any questions you have. If your service is straightforward, you might be able to skip this step and book directly.

#2 - Booking

You can book your appointment right after your consultation, or anytime by calling or texting the salon. Prefer to book online? We make it easy with Vagaro—schedule your visit whenever it’s convenient for you.

#3 - Aftercare & Maintenance

Once your service is complete, I’ll walk you through how to care for your hair at home with the right products and tips to keep it looking its best. I’ll also recommend when to rebook based on your color, cut, and goals—whether that’s in a few weeks or a few months. Healthy, beautiful hair doesn’t stop in the salon!

Am I right for you ?

It’s important to see the right stylist.

We are a match if

  • You’re looking for custom color that’s low-maintenance. I love creating dimensional color that grows out softly and suits your lifestyle.

  • You want a lived-in cut that feels effortless. Whether it’s long layers or a modern shag, I focus on shapes that work with your natural texture and are easy to style day to day.

  • You’re looking for guidance and want to be on a hair journey. I’m here to listen, offer honest advice, and help you reach your goals over time—not just in one appointment.

Where we may NOT connect

  • You’re looking for a super sharp or highly structured haircut. Precise cuts like bobs or pixies aren’t my specialty—I focus more on soft, lived-in shapes with natural movement.

  • You don’t like to prebook your appointments. I tend to book out pretty far in advance, so if you prefer last-minute scheduling, it might be tricky to find a spot!

  • You have a hard time letting go of control. I work best with clients who trust the process and are open to guidance. I’d rather create something that suits you—your features, hair type, and lifestyle—than try to copy a Pinterest photo strand-for-strand. Collaboration is key, and I want you to love your hair for what it is, not just how it looks in a screenshot.

a bit more about me

a bit more about me

Some fun facts about me: time is my love language. I think time is so precious and valuable therefore I am always aiming to be present and pay attention to what’s in front of me. I like to approach life in an optimistic kind of way (glass half full kind of gal). I am very silly and will randomly dance if I hear a good tune playing. I have a toy poodle mix that I love so much! I am originally from Florida so I’m low key a Disney nerd. And lastly, I am always up for an adventure. I thrive off of being outdoors on top of a mountain, at the beach, or traveling to a new place.

Thanks for taking the time to read about me! I love meeting new people and hope to learn about you, too.
